Alchemy Community Theatre (yum is supporter),  just finished stage one of Sanctuary, a theatre performance with multimedia projections based on the lives of care leavers – those who grew up in care. it was an emotional roller-coaster for the cast and crew and the directors. while in the planning and three weeks before opening night the federal government announced a long awaited national apology to all care leavers. the care leavers we spoke with had a lot to think about and as a result we canceled a performance that was specifically for care leavers so that they were free to concentrate on the apology. it will be rescheduled to next year as part of our stage two commitments to build an online portal of stories. feedback from the very large audiences we received tell us the performance was emotional, impactful and heartbreaking. stay tuned for stage two… by making comment below you will hear all news of next stage…
