Stories of love and despair
Yum Studio was involved in the development of a new Australian Theatre work called ‘Sanctuary’, by Chris Dickins, about the Forgotten Australians. During its development we created a short documentary on the story of Deborah Findlay.
In Ballarat, the Forgotten Australians rallied to save the Ballarat Orphanage buildings and land from being developed, and forgotten. These are people who were raised in government care institutions. They have many stories of love and despair. Deborah organised the rally when she realised that the buildings that held her only childhood memories were in danger of being knocked down for development.
Yum Studio believed it was a cause worthy of pro bono support and we were privileged to offer support in the form of video production and photography.
